Hibiscus – the natural “botox plant” for younger looking skin!
Does your skin needs a boost? We love this mask because it’s incredibly multi-tasking – it exfoliates and smooths, draws out toxins and oils, shrinks pores and adds an all-around healthy glow!
Mix with your choice of yogurt, ACV, your preferred oil (Coconut, Olive oil, Grapeseed, Jojoba etc) or water. You WILL feel this mask tighten when drying! Great for oily, dry, combination skin.
Why hibiscus? It’s actually one powerhouse of an ingredient. When used in a facial mask, here’s how it benefits the skin:
- Hibiscus is full of antioxidants that can help fight skin damage
- It helps balance out the skin by both hydrating and controlling oil production
- Hibiscus powder works to exfoliate the skin and increase circulation for a smoother and more glowing complexion
- It contains anti-aging alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and amino acids, both of which help to revive the skin
Hibiscus is one of the highest source of antioxidants. When you add in ground hibiscus flowers into the mask, it gets these antioxidants right onto your skin and nourishes with all its antioxidant superpowers. Antioxidants can increase collagen production, keeping our skin plump and elastic, while reducing the look of wrinkles. That’s a one two punch.
Red Moroccan Clay & blend - has the power to unclog pores (bye, bye blackheads) and shrink down pore size. Additionally, it is said to actually remove toxins from the face, clear up acne, and rebuild damaged tissue. With regular use, blackheads diminish, pores are less visible, and skin is more balanced – producing less oil.
Do not proceed until you have exfoliated your face. Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells and allows the mask to really cling to and nourish your skin. It also gets rid of any dry patches. Dry and dead skin will become purple from the hibiscus. This dying that occurs will fade within a day, but to avoid strange, purple patches on your face, use a good exfoliant before applying the mask. If you properly exfoliate, you have nothing to worry about. Your face will remain perfectly un-purple 😊
Directions: After your mask has dried on your skin (10-15 minutes), gently remove it with warm water. We recommend splashing the warm water onto your face and letting it soften the clay before scrubbing it off with a wash cloth. This is a gentler way to remove the mask and better for your skin. Scrubbing the mask off aggressively can create redness.
Once your skin is mask-free, use a balancing toner and then moisturize to finish off your mask routine.
Use this mask when your skin needs a big boost. Once-twice a week. No more than that.
